What a day! Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are now available and launched!! I’m been using the final release build of Windows 7 for a number of weeks now. Amazing. Very slick, easy and fast. You might be wondering about support for Microsoft Dynamics CRM and running it on Windows 7 or on Windows Server 2008 R2? Well, good news… Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 is fully supported on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 now that they are released.
Over the past few months, our R&D teams have conducted extensive testing of the current versions of Microsoft Dynamics AX, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Microsoft Dynamics SL on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. As a result of these tests, we are confident that customers can deploy the latest version of Microsoft’s desktop and data centre operating systems alongside their Microsoft Dynamics ERP and CRM solutions, and enjoy all the advantages that this will bring to their business.
Happy computing, Ross

CRM System Streamlines Sales Process for Electrical Services Provider
Norfolk Electrical & Communications (E&C) is a division of Norfolk Group Limited, a building and engineering services provider based in Australia and New Zealand. The division acts as an electrical contractor for on major construction sites, including commercial property, mine site and railway infrastructure projects. With a widely distributed workforce of 1,700, E&C had a number of business units that were using a range of different systems to track their sales opportunities. Last year E&C sought the assistance of DWS Advanced Business Solutions Ltd and implemented a customised system based on Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. The new system gave management far greater visibility and control over the division’s sales processes and outcomes. In addition, it enabled E&C to gain a better insight into future revenue forecasts and how the division was tracking in relation to its competitors.

Another win internally for Microsoft as another division employs Microsoft Dynamics CRM to automate business processes…
The Product Release and Security Services (PRSS) team at Microsoft wanted to centralise product release data, track customer relationships, and eliminate manual processes. The team implemented Microsoft Dynamics® CRM and the xRM development platform to build custom solutions. As a result, PRSS improved customer communications, increased release compliance to 98 percent, accelerated product time-to-market, and improved its ability to respond to business needs.
